WWF-Netherlands launched a project to develop a new office on the site of a former agricultural research station in 2003.

Its initial aim was to be a carbon neutral building. Since then, the project has evolved to apply the full set of One Planet Living principles, and is aiming to achieve a sustainable footprint.

The renovation was finished in 2006. Over 99% of the timber used is FSC-certified.

The building has become a major attraction for and has many visitors who come for guided tours.
