Floods in the Danube River Basin: Flood risk mitigation for people through wetlands restoration
In 2006, major flooding on the Danube caused significant loss of life and property in countries from Austria to Romania and Bulgaria. In a new study, WWF has examined the flood events to see to what extent floodplain protection and restoration can limit flood risks.
